Livingston Zoning Code Update Underway

The City of Livingston is teaming up with SCJ Alliance to enhance our city’s zoning code, guided by thoughtful recommendations from the Community Technical Advisory Program (CTAP) report. These updates will address key areas for improvement and align with new state requirements to increase housing accessibility, making it an important step toward better meeting the needs and aspirations of our community.

Parks Master Plan - Survey Now Available!

The City of Livingston is excited to announce the kickoff of its Parks Master Plan, a forward-looking initiative designed to ensure our park system meets the needs of our growing community for the next decade and beyond. This comprehensive plan will serve as a critical tool in guiding future improvements and helping us create sustainable amenities that reflect the needs of Livingston.

Community Planning for Reservoir Park

The City of Livingston, in coordination with CV Studio, is looking for suggestions and ideas from the community for how Reservoir Park can potentially be developed.

Reservoir Park is a 5.5-acre parcel of city-owned land known as located on the North side of Livingston. This land is currently used as an informal park and undefined open space without signage, amenities, or connection to other parks and trails throughout the city.

Energy Action Plan

The Energy Action Plan aims to set clear energy conservation goals and outline the strategies necessary to achieve them, ensuring that the City remains a good steward of public resources.

Livingston Downtown Master Plan

About The Plan

Kicked off in late summer 2023, the City of Livingston’s Downtown Master Plan is a community-driven process aimed at creating a guiding and cohesive vision for the future of Downtown Livingston. As a step toward implementing the City of Livingston’s 2021 Growth Policy, the Downtown Master Plan will provide the community with strategies to promote high-quality development, economic vitality, and enhanced activities in the downtown area — preserving the historic charm Livingston is known for while encouraging responsible growth.

Community Wellness Center

On Tuesday April 2, the City Commission adopted Resolution 5128 which created the Livingston Recreation Facility District. This action followed the election on March 19 in which voters approved creation of the District to support the operations of the planned Wellness Center project.

As we approach the 2 year anniversary of the June 2022 flood event in Livingston, the City continues its efforts to improve our understanding of the river and how to more fully prepare for flood events.

Local Government Review Explained

On the upcoming June primary ballot, you will be asked if you want a local government review.

What's a local government review?

As part of the 1972 constitution, a local government review election is to be held by each city and county every 10 years. The review includes structure, form, and powers.

Green Acres & Montague Subdivision Sewer Main Extension Project

The City of Livingston annexed the Green Acres Subdivision in early 2020 in response to concerns with existing septic system density and discharge of partially treated sewage into the local soils and/or groundwater, TD&H was asked to develop an approach to assess potential impacts, evaluate improvement alternatives, and provide recommendations.

City of Livingston Downtown Alley Capital Improvement Project

The 2023 Downtown Capital Improvement Project (CIP) is one of the last projects to complete the downtown corridor improvements. This project will replace water and sewer infrastructure and improve the alley surfacing and drainage in the alley between Main Street and 2nd Street in the downtown corridor from the south side of Callender Street to the north side of Geyser Street.

Water Service Line Questionnaire/ Inventory

The City of Livingston Public Works Department is working hard to ensure that all materials in the water system are known, inventoried, and up to modern standards. Although there is no lead in the water delivered to your home, particles of lead can enter your drinking water as it passes through lead service lines. While monitoring water quality is not new, we are asking city residents to help complete the questionnaire below, pursuant to the EPA's forthcoming Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, released in December 2020.

Air Quality Monitoring

PurpleAir sensors are used by a wide variety of individuals and groups, from local governments, school districts, and universities to industrial and commercial organizations to home enthusiasts and concerned citizens. The City has a few of the PurpleAir brand air quality outdoor sensors and one indoor sensor that provides real-time air quality index, pollutants, and even local pollen count.

Veteran Registration

The City is working on a project to identify all interred veterans in Mountain View Cemetery outside of the WWII area and needs your help! The City does not have a comprehensive list of all veterans as some of the information was not collected at the time of internment, or did not convert to the new software correctly. We would like to identify each veteran regardless of how long they served, so we can honor them every Memorial Day with a flag placement.
