Green Cans Collection Season
Green Can Collection Reminders
Green cans are picked up on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We start on the South side of town, going East to West, and then do the North side of town, going West to East. Our driver goes through as much of town as he can on Tuesday and finishes the rest on Thursday. Green cans are picked up from the street only. We suggest setting your green cans out the night before your pickup day, as our drivers start early, and setting a reminder on your phone to put them out.
Reminders: PLEASE do not:
- Do not overfill the containers. Our trucks cannot properly empty them
- Do not bag the clippings in these containers
- Do not put garbage, plastic, dirt, rocks, large limbs, or animal feces in your green container
- Do not leave debris on the boulevard
You should bring bundles of limbs and large lawn clippings to our compost site at the Transfer Station. City Residents can now do this for free with their 2024 Green Waste Permit.
Green cans filled with garbage will not be picked up. If they are dumped before our truck driver realizes there is garbage instead of yard waste in the can, the whole load will be contaminated and become regular garbage, and you will be charged for an additional pickup.
This program runs May-October (weather permitting). Green cans without the 2024 Stickers will not be picked up. If you need a replacement sticker or want to sign up for this program call Public Works at (406) 222-5667. The final pickup for 2024 will be November 7th.
