2024 CIP CHIP SEAL MAINTENANCE PROJECT TO BEGIN AUGUST 12TH

The City of Livingston will conduct a Chip Seal maintenance beginning Monday, August 12, 2024. This project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve road conditions in our area. See attached project map for more information

Impacted Neighborhoods:

100-400 blocks of South 7th Street

100-600 blocks of South 8th Street

400-600 blocks of South 9th Street

200-500 blocks of South 10th Street

700-1400 blocks of W Crawford Street

River Drive between S 9th and S 10th Street
 

Important Instructions for impacted residents:

  • Watering Boulevard Trees/Grasses: Please refrain from watering boulevard trees and grasses for at least 24 hours before the project begins to ensure the effectiveness of the chip seal.
  • Vehicle Parking: All vehicles, RVs, boats, and trailers must be removed from the streets within the project area by 7:00 AM on the start date. Vehicles should not be returned to the area until 7:00 PM on the same day. No parking will be allowed within the project area for the duration of the work. Vehicles, boats, or RVs found on the city right-of-way will be subject to towing at the owner's expense.
  • Speed Limit and Road Conditions: Please observe the posted speed limit of 25 mph on freshly sealed roads to minimize dust and damage to your vehicle. Loose chips will remain on the road surface and in parking stalls until the curing process is completed, which may take up to 14 days, depending on weather conditions.
  • Project Schedule Changes: The City of Livingston reserves the right to alter or postpone the project schedule due to weather conditions or other unforeseen factors.
