35th Annual Kids Trout Derby

Let's kick off the Summer in style with Livingston Fire & Rescue's ANNUAL Kids Trout Derby!

Join us for the 35th Annual Fishing Derby at the Miles Park Lagoon, Saturday, June 8th, 2024.

Prizes awarded for biggest to smallest fish as well as tons of raffle prizes for all to have a chance to win!

Registration begins at 8:00 am on the Livingston Civic Center front porch.

Derby Begins at 9:00 am and ends at 11:00 am.

Raffles and Prizes awarded immediately after the event in front of the Livingston Civic Center.

This event is sponsored by Livingston FireFighters in association with Yellowstone River Hatchery and supported by Livingston Recreation Department.

Summer is a special time in Livingston. The Livingston Roundup Rodeo and parade, and boat float to name a few. But for hundreds of children, the highlight is the annual Kids Fishing Derby held at the Lagoon near Sacajawea Park in June.

We coordinate with area hatcheries to introduce over 1,500 rainbow and brown trout into the lagoon. The sizes of fish vary from under 2 ounces to over 4 pounds. Every contestant receives a prize upon registration and hundreds of dollars worth of prizes are given away during our participant drawing after the event. Special prizes are given to the 4 largest fish. All prizes are generously donated by local merchants.
