Public Works – Streets and Parks – Spring and Summer 2025 – Seasonal, Temporary

The City of Livingston is hiring seasonal employees for Spring & Summer 2025 to support the Parks & Cemetery and Streets Departments. This is a temporary, full-time or part-time opportunity offering up to 40 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Start Date: Late March to early April 2025
- End Date: Late August to mid-September 2025
Pay:
- $20.00/hr – First-year seasonal employees
- $21.00/hr – Returning second-year seasonal employees
- $22.00/hr – Returning third-year (or more) seasonal employees
Work Locations: Parks (229 River Dr) or Streets (330 Bennett St), with tasks throughout Livingston.
Schedules:
- Parks: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Streets: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexible options available for those who can only work 3 or 4 days per week.
Job Duties:
- Parks & Cemetery: Mowing, weed removal, playground & pool maintenance, tree care, minor repairs, and cemetery upkeep.
- Streets: Street sweeping, pothole patching, painting, chip sealing, and street sign maintenance.
- General: Operating tools and equipment, following safety procedures, assisting with emergency projects, and maintaining public facilities.
Qualifications:
- Must have: A valid U.S. Driver’s License and the ability to pass a background check.
- Preferred: High school diploma/GED and experience with tools/equipment.
- Physical Work: Includes lifting 20-50 lbs, standing, walking, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
