The City of Livingston is now accepting applications for Lifeguard I and Swim Instructor I positions at the Livingston City Pool. If you enjoy working with youth and are looking for a rewarding summer job, this is a great opportunity!
Job Details:
- Location: Livingston City Pool, 214 River Drive, Livingston, MT 59047
- Job Type: Seasonal (Full-time: 40 hours/week | Part-time: 20 hours/week)
- Work Schedule: Morning, midday, afternoon, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Pay Rate: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour (based on experience)
Key Dates:
- Interview Sign-Up: Schedule here for interviews the week of May 1, 2025.
- Training Period: May 27 – June 8, 2025.
- Pool Season: June 9 – August 15, 2025.
Qualifications:
- Must be 15 years or older.
- Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or willing to obtain before the season).
- Previous lifeguard/swim instruction experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and maintain positive relationships with staff and patrons.
- Strong communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lifeguarding: Ensure patron safety, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies.
- Swim Instruction: Teach swimming and water safety skills following curriculum guidelines.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe pool environment, including restrooms and locker rooms.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with youth and the public in a friendly, professional manner.
- Emergency Readiness: Attend regular safety training and respond effectively in emergencies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform pool rescues.
- Work will be outdoors in varying weather conditions.
