City Street Sweeping Begins May 2nd, 2022
Did you know that sweeping the streets has health, safety, and environmental benefits? Plus, doesn't it look nice to get that winter debris off the roads? City Street Department Crews have been out taking advantage of the nice weather and will begin its annual Street Sweeping on May 2nd.
Here are some helpful reminders:
- Add calendar alert reminders to your phone, or calendar with your neighborhood sweeper schedule dates.
- All vehicles, trailers, and any other obstacles must be off the street from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the day of sweeping (except Downtown).
- Downtown sweeping begins at 5:00 a.m. all vehicles and obstacles must be off the street prior to 5:00 a.m.
- Clearance from trees must be 13’ high along the street for the sweeper to be able to operate safely. If your Boulevard tree hangs lower than 13’ we will not sweep under it.
- Unmoved vehicles or obstacles may be ticketed (City of Livingston, Ordinance 2050). If you do receive a ticket for interfering with the street sweeper, you must personally appear in City Court, with the original yellow copy of your parking violation, on Tuesday, at 4:00 p.m. following the date of your citation.
