January 23, 2017

POSITION: Finance Director

DEPARTMENT: Finance

ACCOUNTABLE TO: City Manager

The City of Livingston has an exciting leadership opportunity within our Finance Department. We are currently seeking to fill the role of Finance Director. This role has operational oversight for the entire finance department including supervision of 6 staff who complete functions related to Utility Billing and Collection, General A/R and A/P, budgeting, budget creations and monitoring as well as local, state and federal reporting requirements.

A well qualified candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a local government or similar setting. Finance experience in other areas may be considered. Professional designation such as CPA highly desirable.

POSITION: City Attorney

DEPARTMENT: Administration

ACCOUNTABLE TO: City Manager

The City of Livingston, Montana is seeking candidates to serve as City Attorney. The City Attorney provides leadership and plans, directs and supervises the operations and activities of the Legal Department. This position performs work of considerable complexity and has multiple legal responsibilities including but not limited to: prosecution of misdemeanors, contract review and development, provide legal counsel and advice, drafting of ordinance and resolutions and handle civil liability issues. Duties also include the provision of highly responsible and complex executive support to the City Manager, including advising government relations activities. This is a full time position with all City benefits.

Qualified applicants must be admitted to practice in the State of Montana Bar and be a graduate of an accredited school of law. Prior experience with governmental law is high preferred.

Annual Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually

City Attorney Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

October 17, 2016

POSITION: Public Safety Communications Officer

DEPARTMENT: Communication Services - (911 Dispatch Center)

The City of Livingston is accepting applications for the position of Public Safety Communications Officer.

This full time position will be responsible for performing dispatch duties for Police, Sheriff, Montana Highway Patrol, Livingston Ambulance, Coroners, 8 Fire Departments, Wreckers, City, State and County Public Services, Disaster and Emergency Services, Animal Control and other emergency responders. Prepares and runs reports and background checks as requested. Ability to work well under pressure, during intense emergency situations with the ability to remain calm, communicate effectively with callers and emergency responders. High attention to detail, strong customer service skills, familiarity with city and county geography and locations and the ability to type 40 WPM. The ability to multitask, work with frequent interruptions, handle complex customer calls, and maintain highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, and as a condition of continued employment must obtain the following training and certifications: Public Safety Communications Officers training through MLEA, CJIN level II and Criminal History certification, and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification. Starting base annual salary for this position is $30,403 with additional stipends as certifications are achieved. This is a Union position covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement by and between the City of Livingston and MPEA. Position is 40 hours per week with actual shifts to be determined at hiring.
