City Planning Board - Public Input MeetingsThe City Planning Board has scheduled two meetings to solicit public input for developing land-use policies on large format retail establishments: on Wednesday April 11 and Thursday April 26, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, in the Community Room at City-County Hall.
A few recent events suggest Livingston should evaluate and perhaps develop land-use policies for large retail establishments. In response the Planning Board has investigated the potential impacts of these businesses on Livingston, and researched possible policy tools that can be used to protect Livingston’s unique character.
On issues like this, the most important element is public input, to ensure any resulting policies reflect our community’s values. Public input is critical to this effort. These meetings are open to everyone, and public comment is encouraged. All opinions are welcome, and the meetings will be conducted in a rational, respectable, and respectful manner.
After these two meetings, the Planning Board will use the public comments to guide policy development, and the result will thoughtful, well-designed ordinances that preserve and protect Livingston for the future.
